Accessibility
Luggwoods wishes to be fully inclusive and makes every effort to ensure that the Experience is as accessible to as many guests as possible.
We hope that you find it helpful and informative. If there is anything we can do to help, we’d love to hear from you!
Please get in touch with our Team at info@luggwoods.ie and we will be more than happy to assist you.
Your Luggwoods experience begins as you enter the majestic forest, set in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains Luggwoods is truly a magical experience which takes you back in time to a rustic journey to make special memories for life.
You will be in a group of 15-20 people, and you will walk as a group through the forest, unfortunately there is no option to walk the track on your own. If this is something you want to do, we would suggest you book the last slot on any given day as this is the only time we could accommodate this.
Upon check in you will be greeted by our head Elf who will ask the boys and girls for help in creating some Christmas Magic and join in completing tasks in the forest. This is a 60 minute interactive adventure which creates lots of fun and laughter.
You’ll immerse yourselves in the daily lives of the Elves as they prepare for Christmas. You will meet the Luggwoods Fairy elf in our fairy village who is in fact Santa’s best friend, She will set you some tasks along the way which will have to be completed while meeting a host of special characters including the farmer elf, the Postmaster, the Joker elf and many more.
You will then visit our Reindeer HQ where you will meet Santa’s Reindeer and make some special Reindeer Dust which you can take home and leave for the reindeer on Christmas Night. Then make your way down Reindeer Road where you will see Santa’s magical Sleigh and before you reach Teach Nollaig, Santa’s Magical House.
We respectfully remind guests using mobility aids that we are based in a natural forest environment. Although we lay hundreds of meters of stone-foundation pathways, the outside floor can still be soft, uneven, and muddy, and there are some steep sections to navigate due to the natural lay of the forest.
The experience is in The Lugg Forest which is run by Coillte. As a result, we are unable to install any hard permanent pathways.
The indoor lands of Luggwoods are on a flat surface and there is step-free wheelchair access throughout.
Some of our walkways have wood chip floor covering, which can make moving around in a wheelchair challenging, especially with small casters. If possible, we recommend you bring a wheelchair with off-road tyres, that are suitable for outdoor terrain and environment.
Attachments such as manual or electric front wheel, or electric rear wheel, will assist with geographical features. Please note this terrain can make heavy powered wheelchairs particularly unstable and we do not recommend their use.
Should you wish to hire a wheelchair, we kindly ask that this is arranged privately prior to your visit, as we are unable to provide wheelchairs onsite.
The journey to meet Santa through the forest involves nav-igating several steep, natural woodland pathways to reach Teach Nollaig, however once you arrive at Santa’s House the doorways and entry points are very accessible for wheelchairs.
Another option to visit Santa in Luggwoods is to book the Santa Express. Santa express cuts out all of the Forest track and takes you straight to the Santa House to mee Santa. For more information on this please click here.
When you access the forest track there are several steep, natural woodland pathways throughout the forest. Please kindly note that Luggwoods Staff are unable to assist with wheelchair transfers or aid with pushing wheelchairs along this pathway
